The
Amazing Black Karnak of the MEAC presents….
Football Predictions- Sept. 1-5
MEAC
Towson by 7
A:
Rodney Dangerfield and JSU
Q: Name two [people] who are most famous for their 1-liners (Rodney – “Take my wife, please”; JSU – “1 yard – total yards rushing vs. SU”)
Hampton
v. Jackson St.
– No contest. The JSU and some SWAC hopefuls are saying that this game will be
close. It’s going to be tough,
but I heard Hampton is going to try to hold JSU to “0” yards rushing and 20
passing yard.

A:
Herb, clean up on aisle six!
Q: What are the WSSU faithful going to be doing after Howard smacks the [poop] out of them up and down the field?
Winston
Salem at Howard – Isn’t this one of
the teams that has thought about joining the MEAC?
Howard better win. They will
be the laughing stock of the MEAC with a loss.
Show no mercy. WSSU hasn’t
played a MEAC team since 2000, and they will not be ready for the MEAC in 2005. I know scheduling is done a few years in advance, but WSSC
has big gonads. Their first 3 games this year are against Catawba (2004 NCAA II
playoff team) – they lost, Howard – they’re gonna lose (WSSU), and SCST
next week (another loss). Maybe
those 3 games will get the team in better shape for their CIAA schedule. Good
luck with that, WSSC.

S.C.
State at Alabama St.
– Tough one to call. MEAC
Co-champions vs. SWAC champions. 9-2 vs. 10-2 (2004).
First game. In Alabamy. No recent history on between these teams. Flip
a coin, could go either way. I’m
going with the MEAC just because SCSU is hungrier.
SCSU by 6
A:
A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, Elizabeth City, and Mary Bethune Cookman.
Q:
Name 4 things that have yeast.
Elizabeth
City at B-CC –
Sounds like two girl schools fighting each other. Who’s
next, Spelman at Bennett? Becky at
Barbara? Who cares? Over
the last ten years, Elizabeth has a record of 27-75.
They play like girls. Last week was their first opening day win in 10
years. Enjoy it while it lasts,
Lizzy. Your win streak is over now.
Mary
by a landslide (21+)
A:
Catch-22
Q:
What do the Norfolk State Spartan receivers do with 100 passes thrown their way?
Virginia
St. at Norfolk St. – Come on Norfolk
– you’re making me mad, man. I’m
gonna go against my better judgment and call this one the upset of the week.
There is a lot of history between these schools.
Norfolk has a new coach and they need to start off on the right foot.
They should win 3-4 games this year.
NSU by 3
A:
No Class
Q: What are the similarities between school in the summertime and over half of FAMU’s football team and band schedule?
FAMU
by 10
A:
At both ends.
Q:
Where do North Cak-a-lackies put their dog muzzles?
NC
A&T at NC Central
– Woo-wee – there is gonna be a country-bumpkin throwdown on right here!
Ma, put the sheep in da barn and put both dem muzzles on dem dogs!
See Winston Salem/Howard write-up. Same thing, different players.
Will A&T try to make a comeback this year? They should have two easy
wins before meeting MEAC powerhouse Hampton.
Maybe A&T should take a page out of the WSSU schedule and play some
tough games first.

SWAC
TX Southern vs. Prairie View A&M – PVAM continues to light the sports world on fire with another 4-win season, starting with this win. Last time they had a 4 or better win season before last year was 1988. Last time they had two 4 or better seasons in a row: 1969-1970. Better buy your tickets now, cause it’s gonna happen again, folks!
PVAM
by 14. (Yes, TX Southern is that bad).
Easy
pick of the week
Bowie State v. Johnson C. Smith – J.C. Smith Golden Bulls’ name is too long to fit on their helmets or jerseys. What has that got to do with anything? It’s a known fact –with few exceptions, long-named colleges don’t win. Go with Bowie on this one.
