The Amazing Black Karnak of the MEAC presents….

Week 11

Football Predictions for Nov. 5, 2005

Q: Why can’t MSU’s quarterback use the phone anymore?

A: Because he can’t find the receiver.

Norfolk at Morgan – This one is a tough one to call. It’s amazing how close their records are. Both teams only have 2 wins.  Both wins are to Savannah State and Howard. Both won by similar margins.  The losses are pretty similar too.  Both had an embarrassing loss to a D-II school.  (At least the team that Morgan lost to is in the CIAA championship game, if that’s any consolation.)  Morgan’s record: 2-7; Points for: 212; Points against: 286.  Norfolk 2-6; Points for: 217; Points against: 270.  I’m going with NSU because they score more points and they are on a roll. One win in a row, baby!

Norfolk by a prayer

Hampton at BCC – Nice! This is what football is about. BCC wants to be a spoiler for Hampton’s unbeaten record and possibly a spoiler for the MEAC Championship.  Hampton needs to win one of its last two conference games to claim the title outright.  BCC spoiled Hampton’s no-loss conference streak in 2003 at BCC!  Revenge or will history repeat itself?  Even with 2 conference losses, BCC has put up some pretty impressive numbers: 306 points in 8 games vs. 264 for the Pirates.  But NSU gave them a hard time, they couldn’t put SCST away, and DSU shut them out.  What does it all mean?  Hampton will find a way to win and win convincingly. Proud Mary ain’t gonna roll on Hampton’s river.

FAMU at MSU- The 7 dwarfs are down in a mine when there is a cave-in. Snow White runs to the entrance and yells down to them.  In the dark distance a voice screams out, “The Rattlers are good enough to win the MEAC!”  Snow White says, “Thank God – at least Dopey’s still alive!”

NC A&T at FAMU – Nothing to report here.  FAMU will win. FAMU will pray that BCC beats Hampton.  Both games are at 4:00.  The Rattlers players will be paying so much attention to the BCC/HU score during the game that A&T just might score once. Once. That is all.

Q: What do Billy Graham and the Howard Bison football team have in common?

A: They can both make a stadium of 20,000 people say, “Oh Jesus!”

Q: What is the difference between the SCST Bulldogs and Cheerios?

A: Cheerios belong in a bowl. (ouch)

SCST at Howard – SCST better win.  They have to win.  They must win.  In the beginning of the season, I believed in Howard.  Then they fell to FAMU.  Then they fell to Morgan.  Then they fell to Norfolk.  Next they will fall to SCST, BCC, and DSU. The Bulldawgs know what this game means to their playoff prayers.  Mission accomplished.

SWAC

Q: What do you call a dead Jackson State Tiger supporter in a closet?

A: Last year’s winner to the hide and seek contest.

Jackson St. at Alabama A&M – Ding dong, the witch (Bell) is gone, the wicked witch (Bell) is gone!  JSU should have gotten rid of him long ago.  Too late.  A&M wins with ease.  Good news is that Jackson State fans will be back in force.  Win or lose, it’s time to celebrate!

CIAA

NC Central vs Bowie – CIAA Championship game. East vs. West.  Bowie already lost to NCCU earlier in the season 38-19.  That wasn’t a fluke.  Expect a good game, but expect the same outcome.

SIAC

Lane at Benedict – The Lane Dragons.  Someone should have told Lane that there is no such thing as a dragon.  It is a mythical creature. Now you’ve got them running around thinking they can win a game this year. That’s mythical also.  They’ll finish out the season a perfect 0-10.

INDEPENDENT

West Virginia State at Shepherd – With a name like the Shepherd Rams, how can they lose?  Do you know who the Good Shepherd is?  They have God on there side. Do a google search on “Good Shepherd” then do one on “Yellow Jackets.”  The Good Shepherd results are full of good news; warm fuzzy feelings; people helping each other.  The Yellow Jacket pages are full of evil beezalbub things.  Is it any wonder why the Shepherds are 10-0 and West VA is 2-8?
