Stillman Tigers vs Albany St. Golden Rams, 8 p.m., Albany Municipal Stadium, Albany GA - Broadcast: CSTV (live)
The Rams (1-2, 1-0) got on the winning track in Frankfort. The offense is still sluggish, but the defense held KSU scoreless until the 4th quarter. The Rams got a safety and another TD late to seal the 21-7 victory. Stillman were not friendly guests in the home of the Selma Green Hornets. Tiger QB Charles McCullum threw for 289 yds and 4 TDs in the 32-13 victory. The Rams are not the Green Hornets, as the Bama Tigers will soon discover. Golden Goats over Bama Tigers

Benedict Tigers vs Tuskegee Golden Tigers, 1 p.m., Cleve Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium, Tuskegee, AL - Webcast: CSTV
The Golden Tigers (1-1, 1-1) are licking their wounds after being mauled by the Bama Bears 31-17 in their home opener. Miles had only 156 yards of offense, but capitalized on 3 turnovers for 21 points. Game over. Benedict (2-1, 1-1) was held scoreless for the 1st half by CAU, only to roar back with 20 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to pull out the win. This game will test the mettle of both teams. Golden Cousins over SC Cousins.
Fort Valley St. Wildcats vs Miles Golden Bears, 6 p.m., Albert J. Sloan Stadium, Fairfield, AL
The Wildcats (2-1, 1-0) lost to Valdosta in a penalty filled game 31-3. The bright spot was the Wildkitties defense, which held the Blazers to only 186 yds of offense. Miles (1-0, 1-1) beat their down state nemesis in Tuskegee for the first time since John F. Kennedy was president. The Bama Bears allowed 331 yds of offense, but capitalized on 3 turnovers to win the game. Expect the Wildcat offense to rev up this week. Wildkitties over Bama Bears.
Lane Dragons vs Concordia Hornets, 7 p.m., Rothrock Stadium, Jackson, TN
The Dragons (3-0, 1-0) have been the surprise of the SIAC this season. There was NO defense played by Lane (489 yds offense) or Morehouse (477 yds offense) in the nationally televised game. The Lizards gave up 395 passing yards. Hornets QB Ken Johnson threw for 287 yds in loss to Stillman. The Lizards should send the Hornets home wingless and remain undefeated. Leapin' Lizards over Selma Hornets.
Kentucky St. Thorobreds vs Morehouse Maroon Tigers, 7 p.m., B.T. Harvey Stadium, Atlanta, GA
KSU (1-2, 0-1) was held scoreless by Albany St. until the 4th quarter. Morehouse (1-2, 1-2) gave up almost 500 yds of offense in loss to Lane. Both teams have decent passing games but will need for defenses to wake up, otherwise the season is going to be over before October. 'Housemen over Ponies is a close one.
Clark Atlanta Panthers - Bye
The ATL Kats led Benedict 6-0 at the half and 18-7 after 3 qtrs. Benedict scored 20 points in 4th quarter to pull out 27-18 victory. Next game: The Panthers will play Lane in Jackson, TN.
Savannah State Tigers - Bye
The BeachCats, still aggravated by 1 point loss to Southern, scored early and often (kinda like the way we vote in these parts) against Savannah State. It was not pretty and the final score (55-6) indicates as much. Next game: The Tigers will play home opener Sept. 23 vs. Liberty.
**Picks must be posted by 7:30 PM EDT on Thursday, September 14.**
Short Shot: Ft. Valley, Stillman, and Tuskegee started the season with new head coaches (Deondri Clark, Greg Thompson, and Willie Slater respectively).
